Sabelt Harness

Who has passed IVA using Sabelt harnesses? Am slightly worried, because the little red book accompanying these seat harnesses states that :-

"Check whether your seat belt is either FIA or ECE homologated. Read the homologation label on the lap-strap".

What label?

Cannot find any such label. Or will it be back in the original packaging?

Label should be stiched to the webbing of the belt. If not FIA/MSA approval then at least a E or BS or kite mark or similar?

Your harnesses may not be FIA approved that is for racing and they will make harneses that are just intended for road use. Should still have some sort of approval marking/lable though.

And - Behold!! It bl***y well IS!!!!!! After much emailed correspondence with Steve, at Sabelt UK, was offered replacement belts, and would I remove mine and send them back to Sabelt.

OK - i) Removed seats, which involved scrabbling around under the car, undoing 8 bolts.

ii) Eased seats forward, to gain access to floor/chassis mountings, and undid lower belt attachments.

iii) Undid shoulder strap upper mounts, then eased belts thru seat-back holes, and lifted out of car.

And that's when I discovered exactly where Sabelt have stitched these all-important labels. On to the lower ends of the lap-strap, on the side facing directly against the trans tunnel.

In other words, precisely where said label cannot be seen, when belts are in fitted condition. So - now all I have to do, is fit everything back again! Gotta get it right first time, sometime. Maybe.
