IVA paid for!
I got the call today to pay for my IVA.
Great I thought, then was somewhat disappointed to hear they are at least 15 days behind with applications. So 3 working weeks before it gets passed
to my local centre 
No excuse for not being ready I suppose!
Good news is that Jim Walker, the manufacturer of my kit is travelling up from Cornwall to Manchester to support me on the big day!
I think he is more excited than I am to see the Christening of the first customer build.

Is that 3 weeks till you get an actual test date? What's the expected wait until the test?

wow.. I paid for mine 2 friday's ago then called them to chase up a week later then got an email from my local test centre so popped in and
booked for next thursday..
so all in all 4 week entire process

Swansea couldn't tell me that. I guess that's down to Chadderton test centre when they receive the paperwork.
Looks like it might be a while

Yes.. get on the case as for the money they charge you'd expect a fast service!!

Well the 3 week estimate was bang on. The paperwork is being sent to the test centre today. I really hope it isn't another 3 weeks before the
test!

I think it varies greatly across test station, mine took 11 weeks to come through, with daily phone calls at the end.............. Exeter

Just got the test date for Chadderton. Monday 1st July 8.00AM!
They did have a couple of spots for next week but I couldn't make it :-(
Better get triple checking everything!

Thanks guys. Unfortunately it was a fail. A good fail though I think apart from the £90 retest fee!
It failed on:
Rear fog light was emarked but wasn't marked with an F for FOG. New one on me!
ETB Digi dash failed as it didn't default in the LCD screen to MPH. Mine defaults to MPH in the LED but doesn't say MPH. It would appear
there was a software update from ETB (2009) for IVA settings. You set it to ROAD in the ROAD/RACE menu which mine doesn't currently have. Dash
is now in the post to ETB for the upgrade.
Handbrake efficiency. Just needs adjusting.
Mirrors vibrate too much at idle. Will have to stiffen them up some how or raise the idle a little bit.
Wires into the headlight bowls not wrapped. Needs 20mm more tube fitting through the hole.
So all easy to sort and I will be back there on the 15th for the retest.

Everything else went really well, no problems with anything that costs money thankfully! I was allowed to adjust the headlights and that was about
it.
That fog light really surprised me. Especially since I bought it as a fog light!

Passed!
Went very smoothly, then off to the DVLA where unfortunately they didn't really seem to know what to do really or care very much either. I guess
since it shuts on the 31 Dec you can't blame them.
I left them everything they wanted and they may or may not send it off to Swansea, they may or may not want to inspect the car. I may or infact may
not hear something at some point maybe in the next 2 - 4 weeks.
