Pre-IVA Pics
IVA form goes off tomorrow so in preparation can I have some opinions to see if anything has been missed.
NB. Car was built by big_wasa so I accept no credit for the top class build quality
Things I know about;
exhaust box mount
lambda sensor
harness mount by side of seats
cam cover breather to catch tank
I welcome any more pearls of wisdom

Are the seat belt bolt covers at top removeable? When I had my test last year, I had those covers on but I had glued them onto nuts. Problem was,
tester wanted to check I had used correct grade nut so he removed covers. Couldn't attach covers back on so classed it part of my fail. Think if
that is all I failed on, he would have let me off

They are from a MITSUBISHI PAJERO / SHOGUN
There is a little tag on the under side of each cover. This has a 3mm hole drilled each side and a simple tie wrap looped round the belt and the
through the holes.

Mirrors themselves (i.e. edge of glass?) or the mounts? If the former, how do I rectify that?
The edges of the side panels/arm-rest area - what are the best suggestions for solving that please?

I don't think you need to do the lower harness mounts as he can not get the sphere in there to test it ???

ps that cover on the live battery terminal needs pulling up. its low as I left it on charge over the winter.

Mirrors
I didn't buy those E-tech mirrors as they don't have the right size viewing area. They need to be 70mm tall at some point.
I ended up with the F2's

Its only the fog that needs to face horizontally square to the rear.
The plate angle can take account the bodywork shape:
The space must permit the mounting of a plate in a position as close to vertical as possible taking into account the shape of the bodywork.

I'd say the mirror mounts will be questionable for radius tests.
That bolt head next to the seat bolster in photo 2.
Any coverings must be able to be removed and replaced in the course of MOT and servicing. So any zip ties / glued on covers normally fail
I had the bottom of my light brackets tested, put trim on them to pass.
Rear lights and license plate doesn't have to be vertical, just your fog lamp.

Well my documents were posted to VOSA this morning!
I've now sorted:
lambda sensor
exhaust mounts
ordered some bolt covers (will just do all those that I can get to regardless of sphere-fear!)
edged bottom of headlight brackets
edged side panel tops
going to use a 'trimmed' bolt cover on the wing-mirror mounts themselves
Mirror glass is 150mm x 70mm so should be OK?

If the glass is 70mm it should be ok. The last ones I measured were 65mm ish.

If im reading it correctly, Mirrors arent assessed for the exterior radius requirements.
The assessment will not apply to exterior mirrors or to the ball of towing devices....
(section 16 page2)
Have i misunderstood the context of the above?, has anyone failed on the radius of mirrors or mounts?

Other things to consider:
Does it have adjustable brake bias?
Are the tyres speed rating ok for max speed on IVA forms?
Can you see the welding on all seat belt mounts?
No loose cables? All cables need wrapping/sleeving on up to connectors.
Rubber fuel lines are appropriately marked for fuel?
Fuel filler hose is marked as such?
Brakes need to be good, make sure they are bedded in. The are tested on brake rollers but the tester also has a pressure sensor on his foot too.
Front wings cover the wheels/tyres appropriately. There's a diagram in the manual I think.

Or does the wire need some silicone hose round it as well?
