Another DVLA cock-up lolz
Well after passing IVA last Tuesday, I sent off all my paperwork to DVLA. IVA certificate, V55/4, tax and registration fee, insurance, proof of
identity etc etc etc etc.
Get a letter today and they have returned my application for first registration and refuse to process until I pay the HMRC the import duty for the
car.
I rang and explained that I had NOT imported the car and it was built in my garage. They then said, oh sorry our mistake, send us your application
again and we will process within 10 days for you.
You got to love the DVLA
Lets see what happens next

Can you not take it all down to Borehamwood? That's what I did with mine.

I didn't have an appointment but they were very busy. Don't expect them to be very helpful there either though.

Will be very interested to hear if they meet that 10 day target. My application went over the DVLA (local) counter on 1st Aug. Still waiting, even
after several phone calls, additional correspondence to verify my chassis "newness", and a couple of emails!
