IVA pass
I passed the IVA today, what a great feeling.......The lads at Chadderton are sound.
Thanks to everyone on the forum for answering my questions over the months.
I'm going for the DVLA registering bit next, I made car from bits so I don't have a donor V5 and will have a Q plate.
I have got the v55/5 and build-up forms which I need to complete.
My IVA tester said that I need a MOT before I send to DVLA for the registration. Is this correct????
It seem odd to need an MOT after all the IVA tests.
I think I'll have a few beer to night.... oh.....and order a new steering wheel and gear knob.
Can't wait to get on the road with plates.

Congratulations.
No mot needed.
You need receipts for new items on the v627 form that state new and unused or receipts plus manufacturers declaration they are new.
You also need photos and new reg fee and road tax fee

v627
I've just been looking at the forms.
If I've used nearly all secondhand mechanical parts and I'm going for a Q plate do I still need to submit the v627 form?

Hi, exactly the same as i've just done:
V55/5
V627/1 (add receipts for 2nd hand and new parts if you can)
All Photocopies:
Driving licence (both parts)
IVA Cert
Insurance Cert
Think that was it and i've just got my Q plates!!!!!

Has to be the original and you don't get it back. Take a copy for your own records along with copies of everything else. Send it registered.
...and well done on the pass. Where abouts are you? Did you trailer it to Chadd or brave the weather?

Thanks for that
I used a car transporter for my original IVA and drove it back with my mate following. For todays retest I drove it alone there and back (Fleetwood to
Chadderton and back), about 100 miles round trip and managed to dodge most of the showers.
What a buzz to drive it after all this time. I did'nt really think about driving it while I was building...
The brake bias worked a treat.
I changed the seirra rear cylinders (22mm dia) for cortinas (17mm dia) and fitted a Mondeo bias valve. If cost me £25 for the lot.

Congrats! I'm just waiting for an appointment at Chadderton so it's good to hear that they're a decent bunch.
