DVLA - I like them :)
Afternoon all,
The dvla took 9 working day from receiving my paper work to having a v5c on my doormat.
I'm very impressed!
After hearing some of the horror stories on here I was expecting longer, I must be luck
One question though: Should they have sent me a tax disc?

A jaundiced view you have from a 'good' experience. I absolutely hate them myself!
BTW, why is 9 days good service? Would be impressed if it took 3 days, but 9 isn't really very impressive.

It's a lot better than the 9 weeks it has been taking

Indeed, but that still doesn't make it a good service though does it? Just not as bad as it has been!

I hope kit registrations improve now they all go to Swansea. Half the battle before was dealing with someone at the local office who probably
didn't do many in a year and just as they got used to it, they moved on. They never really understood the rules as a result. Having them all go
to Swansea should mean more familiarity with the proces for whoever deals with them.

Nine days isn't too bad. Back in the day at Maidstone if you made sure you appeared on a Wednesday chances are you would walk a way with a reg
authorisation certificate.
At the end of the day 9 days may seem like a long time to some but what's 9 days after a year to a decade of building? Yes it's tedious
waiting but at least we can register our cars unlike most of Europe
The last thing we want to do with the dvla/gov is make too much fuss as they will just pull the plug, look what they did with licencing for three
wheelers and 7.5t trucks. The squeeky wheel always gets the oil!
Once its plated and driveable all the effort getting it on the road is forgotten about in five minutes.
Anything With Tits or Wheels Will cost you MONEY!!
