Brake failure warning system required?

Hi

Does anyone know what year you require a brake level/brake failure warning light for the MOT? I have one on my old landy but the overly complex warning light test unit (not its real name) is ironically well known for causing brake failures so want to bin it

Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question but I think I would want to keep it if it was me - I'm kinda interested to know if I have no brake fluid left before I have to stamp on the pedal to bring the vehicle to a halt.

I'm also interested in how a brake fluid level warning system can actually cause brake failure - please explain

"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."
