V5 Anomaly

I was looking at a Q registered car which has the correct manufacturer title on the V5, but the model is only given as '2 seater sports' (or something similar).

I'm happy enough with that, but I also noticed that the year of registration is one year before the manufacturer launched that particular type of kit. Could this have been an admin error, a mistake, a reference to the donor (80's Escort based kit)???

Should I be suspicious, or are such anomalies fairly 'normal' for older kit cars?

DVLA had an amnesty for pre-sva cars, its not uncommon for they to have made mistakes in the process

I think my Striker showed the donor's age but was correctly titled in exactly the same way. Not a problem I think.
