Repeater lights as indicators?

I'm considering using side repeaters as my main indicators. I realise they are quite a bit smaller than standard but I can beef up the bulb wattage (by devious means) to make them more visible.

Will they pass SVA?

I can't see why not. As long as they are of comparable brightness to the rears, they should be ok.

Side repeaters dont have the same approval numbers as indicators so you won't even find a nice sva man to pass them - they just can't.
