I don't belieeeve it!

Just got my first road tax reminder today (has it really been 6 months since the SVA?) and at the bottom it says "An appropriate MOT test certificate" in the documentation bit. The car was first registered 6 months ago!

Methinks there's going to be a phone call to Swansea tomorrow...

David

Im going to tax mine in april , its on sorn at the moment but cant remember if it asked for the mot on reminder.I will use the v92 or whatever the form is and produce the logbook which clearly states first registered 2004.I think the post office clerk may find the 1968 G reg a bit confusing however so would like to know the outcome of you talk with swansea.
Paul.

Hi David, I got mine the other day and although I took my MOT cert. (issued on the Chassis no. pre SVA) I was told by the nice lady I didn't need it ... just before she said the don't accept VISA and

Just to show that the DVLA don't know what's right

Just spoke to the DVLA lady - she admitted to problems on their computer at the moment; told me to fill in a V10 taxation form at the Post Office and take the registration document with me (plus insurance cert) - MOT not required.

Phew!

I got an MOT and taxed mine again after 6 months, probably easier to tax for a year in the 1st place.

In case the nice Post Office people dont believe you or DVLA.......

I like to tax for 6 months the first time round, to move the next insurance payment away from the road tax.

David

I had the same reminder,DVLA told me over the phone to take my V5 and show the date of 1st registration at post office.
All went well and they taxed the car although to be honest i will MOT the car next time, its a good cheap check over for the money.
