Tax online?
Has anyone else taxed a car online? It says to allow 5 days for the disk to arrive, can you drive around without it in the mean while?

It is an offence not to display a correct disc.

Can't see any mention of taxing online on the DVLA site, anyone got a link ?
How do you 'show' the insurance and MOT certificate ?

The insurance companies have a database that's available to the DVLA.
Most MOT stations are now computerised, and feed the result to the DVLA.
