Donor V5 and SVA?

Have just sold my MR2 minus engine and wheels...

Bought it just for the engine.

Question is for the SVA do I need to keep the V5? and or declare the car as scrapped?

Did you sell it without any form of ID left on it? It may be that the new owner will try to register it in which case you may have a few problems....

Its not gone yet... It was actually the buyer that brought it up as to what paperwork i needed for the SVA.

Mr2 is a bit beyond repair. the new owner wants it for spares for his Mr2. Apprently his has been vandalised and mainly needs the trim.

So do I keep the V5 and declare it as scrapped?

If you are only using the engine from the MR2 then you will not be able to get an age related plate from that donor.

I would take a photocopy of the V5 and transfer the car to the new owner as usual.

Let the new owner scrap the car.

I bought an Mk1 Mr2 for the engine, gearbox and a few opther bits and pieces for my car. After i had stripped out everything I wanted (and sold the cd player for £5 and a curry to a mate), I gave the car away to someone who wanted it for either spares, or for a trackday car.

I just took a copy of the V5 document, and then transferred it as normal. I've not gone through SVA/registration yet though, so I can't say for sure whether it is allowed or not!

Cheers
Andy

I'll just take a copy and transfer as normal.

Hopefully I have stripped everything i need...

I have the gerabox left over if anyone is needing one.

i just got through my sva on engine age with a photocopy of the V5, unauthenticated, and a fax from ford to say the car left the production line on such and such a date, with dealer stamp.

beware though, istr something about after april 1st 2005, all presenters must prove engine age, or it will be taken as new for emissions test regs.

This one has me a bit worried. I bought my 7 half finished and the guy gave me the VIN plate but said he sent the V5 to Swansea when he scapped the car and they kept it. He said with the VIN plate I would get an age related plate.

I'm using the engine, gearbox and front uprights from the Sierra but I guess all I can prove is the engine.

New emmisions would really darken my day!!
