Max Net Power

Morning,

I'm completing my Form V55/5 in anticipation of passing my SVA retest on Monday.

Question 17 asks for the Max Net Power in "kW".Looking at the technical spec for a 2.0 Pinto shows a fugure of 77PS (DIN ) at 5,200RPM. Could anyone please tell me what kW figure I should enter on the form?

Regards

David

77PS is 56.6kW

BTW 77PS (75hp) sounds a little low for a 2l pinto...

According to my Haynes manual 2l Pintos were:
77kW (103bhp)@5200rpm
85kW(114bhp)@5500rpm
or 57kW(75bhp)@4500 (rare engine or low comp?!)

1 BHP = 0.746 kW
1 PS = 0.75 kW

a PS is often described as a metric horse power. It was invented by the Germans. They, aparently, really like the idea of power being related to something tangible, like a horse. They can't stand it not beng pricice though.

I guess 77 PS is actually 58 kW.

the 75hp engine will be the low compression one fitted to transits.

they're the same figures as the 1.6.

are you sure you've not got the wrong engine info? even a low compression 2.0 should be making more than the 1.6 - shouldn't it?
