phone number of ford help line to get age of engine
I know its in here somewhere but despite several searches I cant find a posting with the number. Can anyone let me know it.

Ford Technical Information Centre. Fax 01922 725266, Tel. 0906 5533447 (£1.00 per minute). I got a reply by post in 2 days, nice letter stating date
of manufacture, should be more than enough for Mr. SVA.

OK, now for the stupid question.
When ringing these guys what info do you need? I'm guessing you need the engine number (duh!) but do you need the donor vehicles chassis number
or any info like that? Being a tight wad, £1 a minute is a lot when you can't find the right information to give them.

All they need is the engine number and your address for return letter. I sent them a fax, or how about an email to their fax number.

If you want an idea of the age of your engine before ringing Ford then there is a table in the front of the Burton Power catalogue. It covers every
month from 1965 to 2000.
I'll scan it in and add it to the photo archive
