April SVA update
Just noticed this on the totalkitcar site (www.totalkitcar.com)
1 Minimum height of a rear reflector is now 250mm.
2 The requirement for all doors to be two-position catches no longer applies to rear doors if fitted.
3 You WILL now OFFICIALLY be able to warm up your brakes before the brake test.
4 A small change has been made to the exhaust emissions flow chart and a new page added to the SVA manual.
5 The temporary dispensation allowing motorbike-engined cars to be noise tested at half of maximum engine power has ceased with IMMEDIATE effect.
Number 1 affects me - I was just about to stick on my reflectors!
I'm sure No. 5 interests many on this site...

I must be the only one on this site with a car that has doors, and 2 doesnt affect me cos I dont have rear doors. You dont need 2 position catches if
the door can be bolted and sound an alarm if its not bolted when driving.
bet a lot of you needed to know that

Steve, You are not the only one with two doors!
I was aware they needed two stage catches. Not sure of any kits that have four doors though! I guess this is to cover rebuilt or re-registered
vehicles.
"You dont need 2 position catches if the door can be bolted and sound an alarm if its not bolted when driving."
Do you mean if you have those "lander?" style latches, that were sold as a security add on a few years back for standard cars?
