Chassis Number Stamping
Is it acceptable to stamp the chassis number with a punch / small chisel, rather than a proper punch set, assuming I make a good job of it and all
characters are readable etc...?

I think the letters have to be 5mm high minimum so as long as you have a steady hand I don't see a reason why not.
But isn't it worth getting a small steel plate stamped professionally and tack welded on?

My mate had a set of stamps so i cut a piece of plate, stamped at his place then welded onto chassis. i bet several garages have stamps and will be
glad of beer tokens.

I borrowed a set from the technical teacher at my daughters school. He was only to happy to help.
