i totally agree with that.
there are a LOT of cheapsters on here that dont tho, and take big risks in making an error that wont pass without a lot of work.
I have a real SVA manual......im just trying to reduce the chancer's risks a bit in my reply.

The SVA online manual is a bit confusing. Eg exactly how high and inboard should the front indicators be? It has a lot of "soft"
language (eg "within statutory limits" which is no real help. This will be because they are attempting to cover all kit and import cars,
I suppose.
Does the proper SVA book tell you more specifics?

the real one gives exact minimum and maximum dimensions from the ground and edge of car, and even viewing angles.

Thats eactly what people need, Steve (Unless you've passed your SVA already:cool
Therefore the real one is the way to go. Although i still say a lot of it is down to the inspectors judgement, so keep it neat and be polite (and
humble).

I got all I needed from a magazine. It had diagrams of the lighting positions and their measurements from the vehicles extremities and from the
ground. Everything else is mostly common sense stuff that you will find from websites or you can phone the SVA station and ask them for any specific
points you want to cover. I did this several times and was always given a clear answer, not a passage from a book which was open to interpretation.
Also when I got there they knew who I was from speaking to me so they were clear as to how I had done things according to their rules.
