Another Tintop MOT question
Hi All,
I have the MOT coming up on my polo GTI in the next couple of days and the airbag light has been on ever since I bought the car.
VW want 86 quid for the reset and i dont have VAGCOM and the lead so does anyone know if my car will still pass the MOT?
Many thanks Tom

always an option i suppose
admittadly its probably not the safest option driving around with the airbag light on and i should really go and get it sorted.

Airbags form no part of the MOT,
I would issue a manual advisory on this item .
A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

why?
maintenance bulb is not part of MOT.
Chances are it uses the same diagnostic system as 850 - I can tell you magic sequence to extinguish the bulb.
ABS lamp coming on or disconnected is MOT fail.

What he said ^^^^^^^ I concur!
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Careful with taking the bulb out, I did that on a Merc C200 and the engine wouldn't run without it......

Did my MOT 3 day refresher last week and this was brought up.
As said, not testable, Pass and advise.

How about getting it fixed just in case you need it. I know it's not cheap but I would prefer to have it save me in a crash...Also what happens
if you have a crash and it does fail to work, does the insurance company refuse to pay if you get hurt?
Boring old fart I might be but when you see as many M25 accidents as I do you begin to value things different.
