SVA forms help
Hi there,
I am currently in the proccess of filling in the SVA application form for my locost and am unsure on a few sections. The car has a 1600cc Sierra
pinto engine and Escort running gear and has been built from scratch which means that obtaining certain information seems to be a little more tricky
than usual.
I'd really appreciate some help in the following areas:
Q11. Asks for a date when the vehicle was 'made or first registered'. The project has taken me 4 years but can I put a recent date of
say, 1st January 2009?
Q13. Asks for a maximum speed of the vehicle. Would it be satisfactory to calculate this from the maximum power engine speed (taken from engine
data)and wheel circumference or do you just sort of guess about 120mph?! Not really sure what they're after here.
Finally, they ask what the make of the vehicle is. Well, it isn't really any make because it was built from scratch, can I just make a name up
for it?!
Thank you for your help in advance everyone, this site is unbelievably helpful. I'd buy you all a drink if I could...
Matt

Q11 is the date it was finished and SVA ready
Q13 Realistcally 120mph is a good figure and is used for checking tyre ratings on the sva to ensure they are adequate for the car and speed stated
And lastly if you built it call it whatever you want, youre the manufacturer
A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

Just one thing I would add about what to call your car.
When the insurance company askes what kit car it is.
If you called it a Turbo Nutter Bstd,
the insurance may be higher than if you called it
Fluffy bunny mobile.....
Just a thought.
