don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Personally I think they've mentioned £540 to soften the blow of it doubling or so.

I think it'll come in at about £400 and everybody will go "It's not as bad as we thought!"

Cheers

Chris

Re-tests

Another cost consideration is the re-test fee.
The present SVA £30 retest charge is quite reasonable, but if the IVA retest fee is proportion to the expected initial fee it could make the total cost very high.

Funny for me really as working for a company who is a member of the SMMT I got a copy of some report about the introduction of the IVA which I ignored work wise but was interested how it effected us in the kitcar industry. It’s a huge report on the questionnaires sent to the companies who the government thought would be effected by it. Frankly is a typical government con, they have sent questions to companies which then have been answered and then placed in the ‘agree, disagree and don’t know’ categories and then a pie chart drawn to reflect this. It then gives the government responses to the outcome of the questions.

Regarding the question asked about how people think about the cost of the IVA most replied they think it’s too high. The response to this is ‘we understand it will cost more, but considering the cost to get to the new test centers (which is more anyway due to the fact most will be to busy with the extra work load and that the customer will have to travel further to get any appointment) we don’t think the cost is too much.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF! So what the government has said is tough luck, the majority voted against the cost but we are going to ignore the results anyway. As we will need to pay higher travel costs as well it puts the cost of the IVA into a smaller relation to the overall cost!

You just couldn’t make it up could you? The whole report is like this, what’s the point in the results if they will just ignore the ones that don’t agree with their plan?

Hope I have explained it correctly as I cant paste the whole doc here.

GGGRRRRR!

Sorry about my spelling, im an engineer and only work in numbers.
