SVA application deadline date to be extended...

During my SVA test, today I was asking about IVA etc. and the examiner stated that as from last Friday, the deadline day for SVA applications has been extended from 28th Feb to 20th March!!!
NOTE: however, the last SVA tests will still be carried out by 28th April, as before.
Still, should hopefully give some of you hope to get your cars done in time?
At Exeter, Byron (the examiner) said his earliest available appointment is now 4th April!

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I think this will be to allow them to clear the backlog of applications. When I spoke to the SVA section at VOSA today the guy was pretty stressed sounding and said that they were receiving 30+ applications per day. When I asked him about the deadline he was quite clear that all materials to be considered as part of the application had to be received by Friday (27th). However when I asked if the application had to be accepted by then he said, "not necessarily".

I take this to mean that they will stop accepting post on Friday and will work to clear any backlogs over the next few weeks. I'm not quite sure what that means for people like me who might not find out that more photo's or receipts are required until after Friday. I'm going to phone back on Wednesday morning as suggested by the guy I spoke to and see if my application has been accepted yet. I hope that it is because I will kick up a mighty row if my application is rejected because I have failed to prove I am an amateur builder and they don't give me an opportunity to supply additional evidence...

Hi,

Try 01792 454225 - this is the SVA section direct number.

To everyone else - please don't phone these guys too much - they are busy processing my application...

Cheers,
Craig.

Edit: Got a call today from the Glasgow test centre to arrange a date for my test which I assume (?) means that my forms have been processed.
So, posted Monday last week, phoned yesterday - not on system, call today from SVA centre to arrange appt. Not too bad I'd say.
