Glasgow SVA Test Centre - Latest availability?
Hi guys,
I've submitted my application and have chosen Glasgow as my first choice test centre. Does anyone know what the current appointment availability
is at this test centre? I've asked for a test date after 27th March to give me time to complete my build but for all I know it could be booked
up solid to the 28th April.
Also, any tips regarding the SVA tester's favourite fail points etc gladly received...
Cheers,
Craig.

Hi, I had mine tested there in June 08. I passed first time and found the test very fair.
I did not see any particualr bias from the examiner regarding fail points.
Enjoy the day.
Cheers

Thanks Iain, I've heard they are pretty good up there so hopefully I won't have too many problems.
Cheers,
Craig.

Well I just got (actually missed) a phone call from Margaret at the Glasgow SVA test centre who was phoning to arrange a test date for me! In her
voicemail she said that March 11th was the first available date which is a bit too soon for me I think...
I'll phone her back once I've sorted out with my Dad when he is available for either follow me in his car or tow me on a trailer as
I've not got a tow bar on my car.
The good news is that I presume this means my application has been accepted! Yipee!
Cheers,
Craig.

Just back from SVA at Glasgow this morning with a Westie. Speaking to the tester he said they were really quiet at the moment.
It's a new tester at the moment who is extremley helpful. I've been twice before and this was a far more pleasant experience. He'll
be there for at least the next 8 weeks.
Cheers

Thanks for that Davie, I should be there within the next 8 weeks so it's good to know the guy is pleasant.
At the end of the day, my attitude is one of wanting my car to be as safe as possible without taking the whole health and safety culture to the
extreme. I'm happy to have potential issues pointed out to me as long as it is done in an informative manner where I am clear on why it has
failed and what needs to be done to correct it. I also expect to fail on something whether it be minor or major and I will consider myself very lucky
if I pass first time.
At the moment my biggest worry is getting to and from the test as I am torn between driving and towing. The is complicated by the absence of a tow bar
on my road car although maybe my best bet is just to fit a tow bar as it will come in handy for other things too.
Anyway, thanks for the info.
Craig.
