Emission Specs for pre 95 engines?
Just wondered what the actual CO2/HC and test rpm's are for pre 95 engines.
Do bike engines pass this usually with a good margin? (Engine is running well with no smoke)

3.5% CO, 1200ppm HC
Noise emissions are the same as post 95 engines - 3/4 of max power rpm isnt it?

Yep 3.5% Co and 1200 HC's for my 94 zetec at SVA.

Are you looking to pass SVA with a pre-95 bike engine rather than try to get your emmissions down? Looks like the noise issue you had is going to be
of more concern - fit a lower revving bike engine??
Edit - i see they didnt get to test emmissions!! Plenty have passed SVA with 893 blade's etc so should be easy enough (but they rev quite high
dont they for noise test!)

got noise down to 100.3 tonight with some uber restrictive cans...

200ppm HC, 0.5% CO, 0.97 - 1.03 lambda for post august 95

My '95 RF900 was tested at 4.5% but was just under 3.5% when tested.
Just set my tickover using a Gunson CO tester.
Engine power claimed 118bhp.
What out for 2nd gear jumping.
My option now would be to get the cheapest pre-95. fit an air box to help keep the noise down, cheap steel exhuast.
For get the power until passed.
The fit a decent engine when money allows.
I'm now freplacing my RF900 with a ZX12R.
MOT's still at 3.5%CO.

At SVA, emissions on our original 1995 Carbed Blade engine were;
CO % = 1.30
HC ppm = 488
