Quite a few sharp edges on the suspension etc, exhaust clamps etc. Positive terminal on the battery needs a cover. Do the mudguards cover the wheel when looked at from above?

Front indicators don't look far enough out 400mm from out side of the car [ not just the front ]
exhaust clamps are no good before the can
The side mirror's look a bit low to see over the rear mud guards but i may be wrong

Not sure they will like the covering on the steering arms. You can buy proper covers to go over the nuts to the track rod end that look really good (and look better than a bare nut so dont need to fall off). Cover the lock nuts on the top ball joint - wishbone.

Mirrors look a bit low - not sure you will pass with them by the time the rear wings are fitted.

When is your SVA?? i'll be at Chadderton twice in the next month myself!!

Headlights...edges too sharp?
Exhaust clamps... edges?
Indicators...distance from wides part? (400mm max)
Front wing mounting bolts...edges?

Difficult to tell in the pictures but those were my first impressions...and first impressions really count for a lot with the testers; The neater and tidier the better even if it isn't shinney.

Cockpit sides radius? Mudguard mounts radii?

As said Indicators max 400mm in from widest part of car (in the case of the indy the rear arches). to cover the nut on tre you need an electrical gland nut cover also sold by tiffosi. exhaust clamp use one off a motor bike.

Took my x flow engined car out the other day for a shakedown run pre SVA and found that the underbonnet temp with an unlagged exhaust manifold was very high, so high in fact that it made the side of the battery (mounted on the top of the footwell behind the exhaust manifold) very hot and flexible. NOT GOOD. Currently lagging the manifold. You may need to look at that but not an SVA prob if it doesnt get too hot for the test. For the track rod ends I bought some large cable sleeves and fitted them but the tester advised that if he can feel the lock nut through them he would fail it. Wrapped them with foam and fitted even larger ones over the top.

I also think the rear edge of the scuttle may need covering and the gearstick gaitor surround may be to sharp. Similar to mine, I just rounded it over and polished it off. Dont know if they will like the crankcase vent without its PCV valve and a tube. Good luck for the test. Mines next week. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Chris,
Well done for getting the car to this stage.

I'd agree with the comments regarding the track rod end covers.

If you haven't already done so, I'd check the angles of visibility of the front indicators.

If you rotate the exhaust clamps towards the body about 45 degrees you should be able to get the contactable bits to be non contactable. Nice front clamp by the way.

You may need some edge trim on the flat bits of your wing stays.

Good luck with the test.

Does the rear edge of your cycle wings come down lower than the centre of the wheel. If not just fit a temporary plastic mudflap.

I don't think the rear edge matters, as long as the front covers the rim when viewed from above AND the wing itself is 120° coverage.
