SVA Fail - Chadderton

Thought I'd better admit it...
Failed at Chadderton this morning but I would like to say that this was my first SVA experience and, although I wasn't nervous or stressed, it was a great experience. The inspector was a credit to VOSA and really chatty explaining what he/I was doing every step of the way. He was extremely patient when my gear cable decided to come apart (not the fixings, the actual cable shroud) at one end meaning getting neutral became a bit of a challenge.
Anyway, the fails...
Emissions - this was the biggy and somewhat expected to be honest. He allowed me plenty of laptop time on the Powercommander but I just couldn't get it. Low HC and CO and high Lambda or the other way round. Any suggestions gratefully received!
One brake flexy touching the bodywork on full lock.
Couple of wires need further securing.
My sierra column, put in for SVA instead of my nice shiny billet jobby, had too much play. He wants me to re-present with the aftermarket column fitted now.
So, apart from the emissions, half a shift should see it sorted.
Thanks to you all on here for the help and advise that you have unknowingly provided over the last year and a bit and a big thanks to TigerB6Paul for his help during the last part of the build and the moral support this morning, particularly at stupid o'clock this morning when my trailer lights wouldn't work!

Not too bad, I think it's strange he wants you to represent with the other columb on, what happens if he doesn't do the retest or something.

Very strange, haven't heard that one before.

Well all said and done that is about a good a fail as you can get.

Cheers

Rich

Check your exhaust system for leaks, even the smallest will cause a high Lambda reading. At least you know what you have to fix.

Yeah but that was at 200rpm more than it should've been! Also, the fan was on and the bonnet wasn't fastened down, it's not really that loud I was also quietly pleased with the amount of attention my engine drew.

Not booked the retest yet. I need to get some idea where I heading on the emissions issue first. Good luck with the retest
