Barn find to road legal

I have just got off the phone to VOSA, i was enquiring about a barn find kit built for the track.
Mr VOSA/IVA says as it has no build history and is currently fully built that there is no class for this to be tested in apart from the crash it in to a wall at 30 mph one.
He did say that if it was completely stripped back to component parts and the rebuild photographed i could well be allowed to IVA it as an amateur build.

Currently it feels like a lot of work and a financial risk.

Mr VOSA did also say that a further revision of the IVA manual had arrived on his desk today and that minor revisions are arriving daily, so no solid conclusions to the final IVA yet

hmmm, i don't know how we're supposed to build to IVA, when it changes almost every day. its poorly implemented i think...

hmm, so you're supposed to crash it into a wall, and then what? if it passes that, then you can drive it?

common sense is needed throughout vosa really...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I think the genral idea with IVA is to put people off building there own cars as its to much cost and hassle!

No never been registered, its a 1995 chassis so issuse there for IVA, screen fitted and doors, engine is a crossflow with a few race bits.
As i understand the Fury has the body bonded on so could be more of a job to get it off.

When i start adding up the jobs that need to be done, just to get it through the old SVA, it becomes more of a chalenge than the 1997 Robin Hood Series 3 i got through last year.
It has potential but do i want a trackday only car, i don't race or hillclimb and won't have the time or money to take it up.

As always I am in two minds, perhaps i should make an offer and see what happens.
