I'd like to know too. There's only around 3 miles difference between Preston and Manchester and the Mancs are being a bit funny with me.
Was told by someone who said they didn't know that they always inspect in Manchester but couldn't explain why and always on a Tuesday by a
fella who works part time and is nigh on impossible to get in touch with. I actually had to guess at his phone number as no one would give it to me!

Preston aren't much better. They can only inspect at the VOSA centre at Kirkham as parking is an issue at DVLA Preston apparently.
I tried explaining that I could come in an off peak period on the back of a small recovery truck but they were having non of it. So I have to go to
Kirkham. Problem with this is they are only allowed to do inspections there every so often.
I was told today that "This months inspection is on the 7th May" Suggesting they only run one inspection per month?!
They also suggested that as registering kit cars is very complicated it could take up to 2 weeks after inspection for the V5 to be sent out. I asked
why some DVLA centres can do the inspection and produce documentation that allows me to get a plate and get driving in a day, the reply was
"they can't."
So to all you guys who have done SVA to the road in 48hours... "You can't!!!!"

I would love to know which of the local offices are ok with home made chassis numbers, if any one knows?
EDIT to say, I just re-read my post and its shocking that I even have to ask, I mean these are meant to be offices applying the law, not making it up
themselves!
