Help on IVA and seat Belts
I may be reading this wrong so hope for clarification.
For IVA seat belts: -
a) must be of 3 point retractor belt, so does this mean the standard Inertia reel or better, I see no mention of 4 point harness.
b) must have appropriate approval marks, I see this later says BS 3254 XXX but no mention of 'e' marks
c) must have retractor mechanisms, I read that again as the standard inertia reel style that self retract.
I am wanting to use the normal 4 point harnesses such as on the bay but can not see what would allow the use of!
Is there another section or amendment I have missed?
Cheers
Adrian

Which section of the manual is that? I've just read the copy I have which refers to harnesses. In terms of retraction the way I read it was
"if" it has them they have to do x,y,z?

TABLE NOTE 4: The table lists the minimum required belt type. A 3 point retractor belt may be fitted where the minimum required is a 2 point lap belt
and an acceptable alternative to any of the seat belt types listed is an adult harness belt comprising a lap belt and shoulder straps providing
the anchorages satisfy section 19

Magic, I get confused with the note and notes on notes with this document..
So 4 point harness is OK and I assume that the E mark as sold on some is OK as the BS standard is quite old.
Thanks
