Based on previous postings - I'm sure he'll be able to give several.
Whether they are valid enough reasons for you as a reader or a buyer is up to you and me, obviously. But I know for a fact where my money would be
going everytime!
(oh, and No, it's not just you )

Maybe it comes over that way a little, but personally I'm all for a little more competition in the market.
I also think that suggesting CarbonMods is the standard by which other products be judged is a little misguided (and possibly slightly arrogant) given
the "less than great" finish quality I've seen on two of their products of late. What makes CarbonMods products any better than say
Fluke?

I am sorry if i have been arrogant or whatever but after many hours in the workshop trying to make a part perfect, follow all the manufacturing
guidelines, i feel this thread was like having a beer with a buddy. You see that i really need some encouragement after so many hours of hard work. I
am working on behalf of the market competition after all!

Echida - I notice you mention "tex" in your signature. How do you find working with than stuff? In my experience, it definately
doesn't like compound curves and some of the stuff I tried seem almost epoxy repellant!

Texalium is usually used only as the external layer of a fiberglass composite. It's quite trus that's it does not like so much curves etc.
but it is OK if you use vacuum bagging. This depends also to the weight of the fabric. What weight have you worked with?

I will try to post some photos today, the part i still in the mold. I will demold it this evening. As for the price, especially for the members of
this forum i will offer it for 110GBP plus shipping. I must check how much shipping will be for UK. I don't think shipping will be much anyway,
as the part will come quite less than 1kg.

I think it's just you - it's no more arrogant than, say, a well-known seat maker or a locost parts maker "bigging up"
their own products, and in fact it's fairly mild.
As for comparing it to CarbonMods... he didn't! Anyway, isn't it a bit early to tell until we see the product, someone has fitted it and
we know what the quality, the price and the service are like?
Give him a chance!

It's not that he doesn't like change, he just doesn't like things being different.
Echidna - I think that the tex I used was about 200gsm. It was quite fine and looks really nice but was a b*gger to wet out. A bit like the really
fine kevlar you can get if you know the type I mean.

Sorry for taking that the wrong way then Echidna - sounds like you have worked hard on it yesterday and must be feeling pretty proud of yourself at
the moment. I see you are just setting up the business really from your signature - didnt see that last night (and i'd had a really long day at
work so wasnt in the greatest mood getting in at 12pm).
So in that case - i'll say good luck with it and lets see the pics once you have pulled it from the mould and finished it off (this weekend?).
Your proposed price is a fair bit cheaper than Carbon Mods so if the quality is there then you will do well i'm sure.

i think its damn good we have someone else trying to privde this type of product, Carbon mods quality is not up to scratch for the money they are
asking in my eyes, and every other Carbon company i come across say they dont try the kit car market as Carbon mods have it covered...as they put
it.
Good on Echinda i say

might be having problems with amount of resisn, places the tubes etc
give him time, sure he will get it right
