IVA Indicators

Hi all quick question before i buy push buttons from newark tomorrow

Iv had a look threw the IVA manual and can not see if indicators have to be self canceling or not, if someone could throw some light on this for me it would help very much.

Thanks
Hope to see some of you at newark

Manual doesn't have a requirement for self cancelling, and a lot of cars passed SVA without so it's a reasonably safe bet you'll be ok without.
Only way to tell for sure is to ask VOSA but it may take a while to get an answer as they are pretty busy with queries at the moment.

self cancelling is definitely not needed, and thats why its not in the manual

as long as you've got warning lights, and they make a noise its fine

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

They don't even have to make a noise according to the rules
quote:

4. There must be a audible or visual tell tale fitted to indicate the operation of any
indicators such that would not cause confusion to the driver (see note 1)

and

Note 1: A tell tale is not required if the front indicators
directly clearly visible to the driver.
