ground clearance

Not really an IVA question unless its covered in the test but does anyone know if there a legal minimum?
Just a thought with all these humps and bumps appearing on the street, the DOT apparently recommend a max height of 70mm now for these but where do they get that figure?

I thought that 7s are height adjustable?

Can't you just lift it for IVA?

theres no minimum, but speed bumps are generally at a max height of 10cm. my car is only about 9cm for the chassis, the sump hangs lower...

I don't know if IVA covers it and I'm on the road anyway now so it doesn't really matter, I was just pondering on how they can get away installing humps in the road if there is no legal minimum ground clearance for vehicles?

I found this here which says there is no legal requirement

You don't want to be too low for the IVA - when my car was SVA'd it had to go up ramps onto a hoist, and then the wheels had to drop into the brake tester/speedo checker thing.

If you're too close to the ground you'll struggle.

Most people here reckon that a minimum of 100mm is a good idea.
