Engine legitimacy?

Is there anywhere, where I can tap in an engine number, and it will tell me if its from a stolen car or anything like that?
Cheers Guys
Jas Gray

How hard can it be?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Not that I know of. I had a dig around when I got mine as the seller was very dodgy looking.
All's I can think of is the police computer and only then if it was reported.
