Brake / Fuel line securing

Hi all,

I am in the process of routing and securing the fuel and brake lines and an looking at how to fix them securely. I am sure that I have seen somewhere on here that there is a recommended gap between the fixings to keep the IVA man happy but I cant seem to find it anywhere.

I have read the manual and it only talks about adequate fixings which is kinda vague and open for interpretation.

Any advice gratefully received.........

The manual doesn't seem to make much mention of it for brake lines other than to say secure. The standard on here seems to be 150-200mm. I did mine at 150mm to make sure............(he says running away to check manual).

From memory fuel lines are at 300mm but obviously need to not rub etc.

30cm is the recommended max gap from SVA. stick with that and i don't think you can go far wrong. but you're right, i've found the IVA really vague on fuel lines. it doesn't even say anything about the markings fuel hose needs or anything,

300mm --- ie 1 foot

For brake lines tin top style pop in plastic fittings are very good and look more pro than other types

These arel availble from usual sources including local motor factors, ebay

The photo of the double clip on ebay is possibly the worst photo I have ever seen on ebay!

it really annoys me the manual doesn't say whats acceptable and whats not. i don't really want to drill more holes in my chassis. its already full of them

no more than 300mm apart! must be secured to the chassis (p-clips etc) must not rub or chaf anything obviously.

i thought it was 100mm, not 300... i'm saying this because it's what it says in the haynes manual (Gibbs)

i did it every 100...

Watch where they come past the Diff, Uses some of that plastic split tubing top protect them.
