That is one hell of a garage, not get much in the boot of that estate.
A Bike engine estate must be rare.

It is zero road tax as it has used the common kit car route of using an early donor identity, which makes a handy saving. - is this the "dutton
estate" bit? I dont see where it says its a dutton.
I'm confused though, do any donors for MK Indys come from the pre-tax era?

No doubt it comes up as "Dutton Estate" if you run the reg through one of the online checking services.
Personally I can't see what good it does continuing to highlight these on here. I would imagine that there are many, many dodgy cars on ebay,
not just kits. I assume this guy bought the car already built and registered and he may, or may not, have done his homework so may, or may not, be
misleading potential buyers but it is always a case of buyer beware.

Totaly agree with Richard on that, what about the many range rovers, minis and god knows what else knocking about which are not what they should
be.
Its not like he is trying to mislead anyone as it says "dutton estate".

The penalty for getting getting found with an incorrectly registered car like that one is to have it crushed and a possibly large fine. That's
more money than I could afford to lose.
If someone who doesn't know, or believes 'everything will be ok' buys a car with a dodgy V5 then they can be in for a nasty shock if
they get an MOT man who spots things aren't right and flags it in the new computer system. Being registered as an estate is very unlikely to
pass unnoticed forever. Worse if the original dutton gets pulled out of a scrapyard and rebuilt as when they apply for the V5 the police will come
around to your house in an unsympathetic mood.
SVA/IVA is a safety check foremost that car hasn't had one so there could be really nasty problems that haven't been picked up.
The dodgy reg at the very least devalues it by at least £1000 which is good news for anyone who likes the car but feels it needs to be made legal (new
chassis number and an IVA).
Besides there's the natural justice for all those people who've paid for SVA and now the even more expensive IVA in order to have a legal
car and people cheating the system is always going to stick in the throat.
What mini's and range rovers do you think are dodgy?

Range rovers with shortened chassis should have gone through the sva as these have had chassis mods and minis that have had all the good bits from a
bad shell put into a good one.

On the first point completely correct, depending when the work was done as it used to be legal until they tightened up/reinterpreted the rules

Reshelling a mini is also completely legal if you use a new heritage shell (OEM spec) or keep the reg of the good shell. Reshelling a tax exempt car
into a newer body and keeping the old tax isn't allowed.
But neither of those is possible to spot from an advert as they can be completely legitimate. For the same reason it's unlikely to get flagged
by the MOT man as he can't really know when work was done as there's no requirement for records to be kept.

think were arguing a moot point here fellas.
why be critical of someone for posting information on a dud car? they've not done any harm - in fact the outcome can only be good if someone
spots it whos interested and hasn't realised.
just because theres a lot of sh**e on the road doesnt mean we should let everyone get away with it. If I could get a list of all the dodgy cars
floating around I'd ship it straight off to the DVLA (im not a brown noser, but if im going to have to pay a grand to get my car on the road, so
should they!) As it stands, fighting bad cars one at a time will do for now  .
