Sports personality of the year
Sorry, but surely it should be a world champion of some sort not some random footballer.
Even he was shocked

Brian Giggs I think he was called - he didn't have much of a personality

Sorry thought it was a pile of sh1t. I started a poll in mad house on this subject.
Manager of the year went to a guy whose team qualified for a competition, wtf.
Tom Daley won young persons award, he shouldn't have been eligible as he was in with the big boys.
Team should have been won by the womens cricket team.
International-arguable, it was the second time time in a row and he does have a personality.
Ryan giggs great guy but he's not the biggest story this year by a long shot.

Why oh why is Giggs suddenly getting all these awards? He only played 12 games or so last season and suddenly it seems like he's winning
everything - just because he is getting towards time to retire it seems.
Disgraceful imho

Sorry I didn't think to look in the mad house. I kinda justified it being here cos I really think JB should have won and he drives a car

They'd have had to go into "Fergie time" and keep the polls open until Giggs got enough votes

I actually think Giggs deserved to win. He's been playing at the highest level of football since he was a teenager and won pretty much every
title and medal going along the way. He's scored heaps of crucial goals in make or break games and made and still makes some of the countries
finest defenders look like amateurs. While doing all this, he's kept his head down and grafted: the ultimate professional sportsman, setting a
great example to the countries aspiring young players. The end.

"Sports Personality of the Year" - not "Sports Personality of the last 2 decades". It should have gone to someone who did
something special last year, not a footballer who is at then end of his career and has not shone in the last year.

As has been said before it's sports personality of the year and from what I can remember Giggsy hasn't exactly been in the headlines a
lot, there were more people there that deserved it (Including JB) perhaps Giggsy should get a lifetime achievement award but not Sports Personality of
the YEAR.

Personally think it should have gone to the person who is most popular with the viewers. The most votes wins? ...oh, hang on... it is done that
way.
Yes, I'd have liked Button to win but there's a lot of people out there (or even on here) who don't think F1 is about the drivers
but about who has the best car.

Simple, hardly anyone bothered to vote (me included) aside from a few armchair manure fans.
"With the public choosing their favourite from the shortlist of 10 by phone on the night, Giggs received 29.4% of the vote (151,842 votes) ahead
of Button (18.74% - 96,770) and Ennis (15.58% - 80,469) with a total of 516,473 votes cast"
Bit like a general elction.

The point is all these candidates must have been nominated surely, why did Brian Giggs get nominated?
(There must be at least another 100 or so footballers who have done nothing who could have been given the title)

BBC Sport website summed it up nicely:
"Lance Armstrong's autobiography was called 'It's Not About the Bike'. Jenson's is going to be called 'It IS
about the car'."

Everybody was too busy voting on the other side. Someone at work suggested that 10 Million people voted in the X-Factor final.
