MOT after SVA
Hi,
Just got my tax reminder which required an MOT. I SVA'd the car Jan 09 and therefore expected not to need an MOT for 3 years.
A phone call to VOSA confirmed no MOT for 3 years.
I then called the DVLA and they said their computer doesn't recognise the age of Q plates and therefore automatically assume an MOT is required
(when it isn't).
They advised to tax the car online and I wouldn't be asked for MOT proof, as it recognises that it is only 1 year from 1st registration.
I taxed online with no need for MOT.
Hope this is of some use.
Cheers
Al

Always have taxed the Indy online to ensure I don;t end up arguing with a (no gender specific) person in the Post Office/DVLA counter.
Scot's do it better in Kilts.
MK INDY's Don't Self Centre Regardless of MK Setting !

Bizarrely when I tried to tax mine online < 3 years (Q plate) it still said I needed an MOT but I just signed the disclaimer and sent it with a
cheque recorded delivery and job's a good'un.
shame that was 3 years ago so I now need to get MOTs
