IVA Timescales

I have just contacted VOSA to see how long before my car is ready for the IVA should I contact them to book the test and they said at the moment the Yeading Test Centre (which I plan to use) are giving a test date of 2 working days from date of call. This seam very quick is this right?

Also there was a message saying you can still book SVA's but the lady I spoke to said DVLA will tell me what test I ned to book.

i think SVA is still available for commercial vehicles. at least it was available for a while after ours changed to IVA. so its possible, but not for us

I phoned Taunton test centre just prior to my SVA last year and assumed that they would tell me that a date would be weeks away, but they turned round and said bring it up on Friday (2 days later) the car wasn't ready so I booked it in for a few weeks later

They did get very busy though as I was one of the last SVA's, so you should probably be OK for the IVA

I think they've had a drop in numbers as so many cars got finished and through SVA at the last min'. Now there's a lull while people Who had no chance of making the deadline get ready for IVA. I read somewhere that one IVA centre had been closed because of this.

i just sent my forms in last week so will know how long the wait is quite soon.

Jack if you want to take pictures make sure you go down there and ask permission a week before so that the tester can get it ok'd at Head office.
