I am using the same engine as you, and though I haven't done it yet, apparently you need to ring/email Jonathan Bell,
jonathan.bell@vauxhall.co.uk or 01582 427288 or 01582 874405 (ext 7288) or 07721 066886, he organises the letter necessary, Vauxhall will apparently
charge you £50 for the pleasure though!!

yikes! when i needed prove of age for my bike engine, i went along to local Honda main dealer, who printed me out a nice letter on headed paper saying
that engine number blah blah was from a 19.. Honda Fireblade. cost me one pound for their tea fund!
likewise i didnt fancy paying the £30 (?) that Honda charge for a proper certificate. took letter along to SVA and the tester was perfectly happy with
it!!!!
Sorted!!!

Right, before I get on to Vauxhall directly then I'll try my local dealer. Many years ago a mechanic did the cambelt on my 16v XE converted
Manta, and commented that he had an XE Westfield, so maybe worth a go!
