OK..misread it originally - the cameras are fitted with GPS devices, not to the satellites...
Still a bit BB...

SO the camera has a GPS in it..... A GPS measures position & therefore speed. But, the camera is not moving so.....
WTF what advantage will the GPS give over a radar based camera or have I missed the point totally.
Or is iy as first thought camera is on satalite and looking down at road.....
Scot's do it better in Kilts.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I've seen this, basically a system of camera's on every street corner with a fixed GPS position calculating how long it takes you to go
from A-B. No good going a longer route as another camera may capture you and work out your route...
Very BB and typical of our BIG government style.
We need a party that will take us out of Europe and cut the amount of investment in non essential stuff like this...

I dont understand what a system like this would ever hope to gain...
rows of traffic doing 60mph braking whenever the person in front brakes... drivers will go to sleep and there will be more, NOT less accidents...
its a joke..
Scientific evidence shows that drivers are more alert when they are driving at their "comfort speed"... which is why some people do 70 in
NSLs an some people do 40....
We need better driver training, NOT more robotic systems to rape our wallets!

Seen this. I'm guessing its only been proposed because of the huge outcry that would occur if they tried to fit the GPS boxes to the cars
directly. Kind of sneaking control in the back door. I don't like it. I don't drive too fast or dangerous but the idea that my movements
will be tracked everywhere I go creeps me out. Privacy is important. I have curtains for a bloody reason!
I'd expect a lot of number plates to start falling off, getting wet newspaper stuck to them etc etc. Car cloning will probably hit record levels
too.
Maybe a nicely worded petition on the number 10 site would be a good start? See if it can top the 2million mark...
Why are all the fun things in life expensive!

How about a petition to the owners of GPS?
Seeing as it belongs to the American Air Force I have been wondering for a while how long before they turn it off altogether or upgrade it?
Either way all our expensive sat navs and gps toys will be useless.
