More on seat belt mounts....

If I read it right, the IVA manual says that I need the weld in threaded inserts that hold the seatbelt mounts to go all the way through the tubes they are mounted in and be welded on each side.

Has anyone got a good source to buy mounts from? My tubes are 1" square tube and I need 2mm sticking out each side to weld onto. My seatbelt fastners are 7/16ths UNF, and I need 8 of them!

Any leads much appreciated.

You wont be able to put them through 25mm box. There will be no box left.

Really? 7/16ths is about 12 mm, with a 3mm wall, that's 18mm OD. My 25mm box has 1.6 mm wall, so that leaves a 21 mm gap on the inside? Has anyone successfully put the mounts inside 25mm box?

Nice welding on those mounts by the way!

I would suspect they may consider them not being strong. I think I'd be considering if they would twist the bar in an impact.

MK weld them on the back pf the bar and put a triangulation piece either side to provide extra strength.
