Alternator bracket

Hi chaps,
can anyone tell me what alternator to use,or a bracket that can be made to fit the original alternator to a pinto in the book chassis because the room between the block and thesteering arm is too small to use the original mount.
Thanks
Steve

My engine is about 4" further back than that and all I had to do was use a shorter belt with the original alternator.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I used a Lucas LRA 101. That fits as well.
I also cut 10mm of each of the three mounting posts on the block, as per the Luego build manual. This also helped with clearance.
Pat..

that could be a good idea. The next shortest belt i got was too short to get on properly!

how much clearance is necessary for peace of mind? mine had 1mm, and nearly cut the steering column in two...
