Mirror field of view

Bought some 'caterham style' mirrors from CBS:

caterham style reflecticating devices

Having a job mounting them high enough to see the 2.5 metre-wide floor-line 10 metres back because the rear arches are in the way?

How have you who've 'been there' done yours?

Don't Caterham mount that style on the windscreen? I'm pretty sure that's where they are on my mates Roadsport.

Yes, they go on the windscreen support, but they can't be placed too far up as the support is triangular, and the mount for the mirror is about 3" long. This isn't high enough to see the floor behind the car. (I don't know how caterham fit them)

By the way, Iank - thanks for your reply - I was beginning to think the locostbuilders had all deserted me!

Steve.

Think most buy motorbike mirrors on long stalks.

Just checked and my mates are actually mounted on the doors, which seems a bit strange.

Hope this picture helps a bit

that's the IDEAL place for them, I think - they are much closer to your eye giving a much better field of view? However -I haven't got doors.
