Question about pop rivets
Hopefully someone here will know the answer to this. I am wanting to use 3mm pop rivets on the outside of my ally bodywork to secure it to the
chassis, mainly as I have seceral hundred of them lying around. As I understand it due to them not protruding more than 5mm they will be okay for IVA,
am I right?

So long as they are "blunted" i.e. not sharp. So yes should be fine. But be careful as to the quality of your rivets, cheapo pop rivets
are nasty, they will loosen in time (might be ok if you use PU as the sealant this really sticks the panels on). If you want the real thing contact
Primary fasteners (nothing to do with me, but found them fantastic) and explain what you need them for.

Thanks Dan, using Tiger seal too as you said, quality is unknown so playing safe. Any other thoughts from the collective?

I attached all my internal ally panels with 4mm closed end rivets and had no problem at SVA (not IVA).
