Heat source and fuel tanks/lines
Hi. I am preparing my 1988 Spyder Silverstone for the IVA. It has two fuel tanks, one behind each seat , connected together by a T piece that in turn
connects to the fuel line feeding the carbs. The fuel line runs along the inside of the tunnel and the exhaust runs fairly close to the centre line of
the tunnel but below the the floor level. The IVA manual states “Fuel tanks must not be positioned near a heat source (similar in installation to that
of a type approved vehicle), so that a leak could cause a fire hazard”
Has anyone any experience of how close is too close and if a heat shield would be considered acceptable. Thanks.

Go to Google > Advanced search then put "locostbuilders.co.uk" against the "Search within a site or domain" together with

Thanks for that Mike, its a good suggestion using Google, would have saved me many hours on Sunday.
Read that thread but I could really do with an inspectors view. I might have to ring the local centre and get advise. I am considering removing one of
the tanks and moving the exhaust.
