Are these mirrors ok?
Had what you might call a traumatic few hours in the garage, ran out of welding wire, snapped a grinding disc which cut me in a few places then my
welder blew up!
Will my cheap mirrors be ok for IVA? They're all plastic so if the inspector finds a radius he's not happy with I can sand it down there
and then

Just had a look in the IVA manual and it says they must be a rectangular area at least 40mm x 70mm within the mirror face.
The other rules are basically that it must be adjustable, and not distort the image (i.e. not vibrate).
I think that's the main areas to watch for. Someone else may be along to give more precise info.

Hi, I have just been looking at mirrors myself.
The section on 'indirect vision 08' page 3 of 8 gives the viewable area.
70mm (Wide) x 40mm (High) with a 70mm line parallel to the 40mm line.
They give examples of oval and quadrant shaped glass.
A 100mm circle seems to meet the requirements.
It does not say if the 70mm line has to be central or up one side.
Your mirrors have an odd shape, so I wonder if a call to a test center may be constructive.

Yep its a bit of a strange requirement, these do meet all of those as you can get about a 85mmx50mm rectangle on the face with the added height on
one side of 80mm parallel to the 40mm line.
I guess i'll have to see, I could discuss my interpretation of the rules. I can't find a direct contact number for nottingham either.
Hope you've had as much fun as me looking for some. My advice is go to your local bike shop as it'll save a fortune on the mark-up
CBS/Europa charge and postage too.

Dimensionally they are fine.
As avagolen said, they must be at least 70w x 40h AND have point thats at least 70mm tall, it doesnt matter where that 70mm high bit is, as long as
its along within the 70mm width.
Heres a scribble i did, it can be any shape as long as you can fit the black rectangle in it, and some along the length of that rectangle you can
measure 70mm up (or down, or up and down!)
