covering up exhaust flanges for iva

i have a 3 bolt flange on my exhaust collector which bolts to the pipe work to the silencer,so whats the best way to cover this for the iva? as it will probably fail om its radius! cheers

would a heat shield work with the straps around the 3" pipe work and the center of the heat sheield on the flange

Cant picture exactly what you mean, but can you get a piece of alloy/copper tube, slit it down the length and then bend it to the right radius and force it over the edge of the flange? Might not look pretty, but it should work...

I did something similar on the edge of the silencer, although it was only a thin flange i had to cover.

Exhaust wrap? (not sure if that's ok, but it'd be a good way of covering it with something soft and fluffy and heatproof.
