Projections and exposed components
Hi All,
As some may know, I am building a middy. My question is, what are the IVA rules regarding the top of my engine being exposed out of the top of the
rear body work, can the rocker cover and inlet manifold stick out through a cut out slightly above the body work?
Also, can an oil cooler be mounted in front of one of my rear arches and not need a cover?
Cheers, Rob

Yes to both as long as they meet the radius requirement... so effectivly no.

?
If you are making your own bodywork why would they stick out? Unless of course it is part of your styling.

Yes, part of the styling i was thinking.
I thought the rocker cover and manifold would look a bit like this.......

As above, I think you'll have trouble meeting the projection requirements....
How about a transparent cover (perspex or similar?) that shows off the engine in a way that you like but is smooth enough to meet the test
requirements?
Or have two covers, one for tests and one that magically changes over after IVA and between MOT's?
A bird in the hand....
