Exposed Radii
I'm starting to put the last few bits of trim on the car ready for the IVA. What is the normal way guys cover up the adjustment nuts on the
tie-bars? I heard that heatshrink is no longer an option?
Also, I have made a modification to the nosecone and fibre glassed in a flat area at the bottom to put the number plate. As there is no plate at the
moment it has edges that will probably be a fail with the IVA gadget so any ideas or am I worrying unecessarily?
Thanks.

Shrink wrap is available but has to go on while the steering arms are dissembled. If the suspension is complete you can, like I have done, put some
central hearing pipe insulation around it.

I did think about plumbing foam, but I thought they would complain as it is not 'permanent'?

I don't think they allow it, suppose it depends how it's fixed and covered

i seem to remember self amalgamating tape being used by people on here before?? the stuff you stretch slightly and wrap on, and it sort of melts into
itself.
can't remember the outcome at s/iva though, but i imagine it looks more permanant than most other things
or another one was (i think this is what they're called) electric cable glands? but they seem to have hexangonal nut things on them too...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

self amegameating tape is not suitable not is shrink rap as ifit were removed by a garage it would not be re fitted (one of my own iva fail points)
i used a pair of SWA wire gland covers on each of the rack adjusters (looks pucka)
and the rubber dust cover from a ball joint to cover the exposed locking nuts on the upper wishbone ball joint
both of these items can be bought from ebay for penuts
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=swa+gland+20mm&_sacat=0&_odkw=swa+gland&_osacat=0&_from=R40
The black plasitc bit, (2 per side) you can get them seperatly but carnt remember were

and those
