The Haynes Roadster has sufficient flat area for a number plate. So it's not really an arguement.
I've just stuck mine to the Nosecone. Sticker not plate.

Motorcycles were exempted because they were dangerous mounted on top of the front mudguard like a scythe. Cars in the UK have to have one fitted and
it's up to you to provide a suitable mounting place for one. Alfa Romeo had to offset theirs.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Yeah but you can mount across the front of the Nosecone. I chose to ignore this and did what I thought to be aesthetically better.

Mine is on the nose, and my MOT guy assures me it is ok, not probably legal, but ok
As for the police, if stopped, i can put a normal plate on the front in about a miniute, just to satisfy the law
saying that, ive never had a problem,

Short answer is... There's no loophole...
It's just an internet myth. To be fully legal you have to have a standard one. Now you may however chose to... not have one, keep a broken one
in the car ("It's just fell off officer", use an undersize show plate, use a stick on plate... or any of the other things many of
us do but it's at your own risk.

What Adithorp said!
There is no 'loop-hole'... or exemption for oddly-designed front-ends!

You can read the law here:

It's uncharacteristically short and easy to read!
