MK Indy R - adjusting Protech shocks to change ride height?
I am trying to set the ride height to 100mm on my Indy R. I have removed the shocks to adjust them but not sure how much to tighten the springs by.
Any ideas?
Photo shows current position of adjuster in relation to the bottom of the thread at 19.45mm. Does anyone know roughly how much I should be tightening

You really need to do it with them on the car using a C spanner.
Jack it up to take a bit of pressure off then wing the adjusters a couple of turns at a time
Drop it down, then weight the car to settle it and try again til your close

I dont have a C spanner and I'm too impatient to order one and wait for it to arrive. Also I think access for a spanner will be tricky.
I was just hoping to set them as someone else has before I put them back in the car because trial end error removing the shocks again will be a pain.

On the R can't you alter the ride height using the pushrods?

You'll have to do it trial and error then. But you'll spend far longer getting then right. Just set them roughly and order a c spanner off

what was the ride height before you took them off?
adjust them 10mm, see how it changes, and interpolate/extrapolate from there

Just tap them around with soft faced drift and hammer.
If you don't have one, use a bit of wood.

Ask protech for a spanner they are slightly different on the new rings more rounded if I remember correctly, they kindly gave me one at Stonleigh a
couple of years back.

I adjusted my shocks initially by taking the weight off the wheels and turning the spring, while wearing rigger gloves. It depends how strong a grip
you have, I don't have much but moved them up 50mm, then I used a C spanner.

Thanks for the replies. I had the rose joints in the push rods all the way in so I have moved them all out by 5mm. Also made a C spanner from a bit
of scrap angle and have wound the adjuster up so it is at 30mm above bottom. Just got to bolt it all together now and hopefully its at 100mm.

Front is now at 110mm, I can drop this down using the pushrods now if required.
What should the rear be? Ive read 125mm, is that correct? Where on the car should the rear height be measured?

Due to the lightness of your car, can they not be turned with the car on its wheels? This will help you get it more accurate. Remember that the
distance you measured may be different slightly from side to side because of the car weight distribution will be slightly more on one side than the
other
